As for inquiries and questions, all we ask of you is that you do what will get you the best answer in the quickest way. This will have the side effect of minimizing waste of volunteer time. Before asking a question, be sure you have surveyed the web site to see what information is readily available to you directly. This site has a wealth of information that will answer most questions. If you still have a question, please review the examples below to be sure you are directing your question to the right volunteer.
As for comments, complaints and suggestions, often times specific suggestions can be best absorbed by the officer or committee charged with responsibility for that area. If your comment, complaint or suggestion is of a global nature or requires a policy decision, then the Board is the right contact point.
For most issues though there is an appropriate specific Officer or Committee to receive your input. Please review the examples below to help determine which contact to use.
If you just aren’t sure whom to direct your question or comment to, the correct contact point is “Help”. Select help from the drop down menu below and ask away. This address is monitored by the Communications committee and they will be glad to help you find the contact point or information you need.
Examples:
I want to request a copy of some document or inquire about some record in BHOA.
Comment: Minutes and newsletters are available on the web site.
I have a question about dues or other financial obligations to BHOA.
Comment: Financial reports and budgets are available on the web site.
I want to cut a tree, paint a fence, erect a shed or play fort, add onto my home, install a satellite dish, etc.
Comment: Specific Guidelines for most projects are available on the DRB page of the web site.
PLEASE read these before asking questions.
I want to report a problem at the pool, park, playground, basketball or tennis court. Or, I need a new amenity (pool) key.
Comment: Volunteers are needed for this committee and subcommittees on each recreational amenity. Without volunteers little gets done.
I am a new resident and would like to receive a welcome packet. Or, I would like to suggest a social event in Buckhead.
Comment: When you have a new neighbor move in, suggest that they contact the Social Committee for their welcome packet (some excellent cookies may come with it!).
I am having a problem with the web site. Or, I want to get on the e-mail list. Or, I don’t do internet and I need some information.
Comment: This committee manages the web site, the community sign, the electronic newsletter and all communications to homeowners and residents.
I want to report a broken water fountain, a hole in a walking path or court, damage to a common BHOA facility, etc.
Comment: This committee handles volunteer maintenance and emergency repair projects. This is a lot of work. Volunteers are needed to help with the committee in general and to do specific odd jobs to save money for the association. Handymen, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, landscapers, etc. are all needed to keep our dues down. Street lights should be reported directly to Coastal Electric. Street pavement and drainage issues should be reported directly to Bryan County.
I see my neighbor cutting trees, painting their fence, putting in a satellite dish etc. but I don’t see a permit on their mailbox. Or, my neighbor is parking a boat/trailer/commercial vehicle in their driveway, or is routinely parking on the street.
Comment: Enforcement of all covenants goes to the Board. We need your help identifying violations so that the covenants can be applied equally to all. Reports cannot be anonymous to the Board of Directors but can be anonymous to the violator.
BHOA is a volunteer driven organization. All the contacts listed below are neighbors who volunteer their time to make Buckhead a better place to live. We welcome your input, thoughts, complaints and suggestions. We are also happy to help in any way we can. However, we do ask that you help us make the best use of our volunteers’ time by doing your part. |
